Competence Scoring — Methodology
How a single skill assessment is graded, how the AI Maturity Dashboard composite is computed, and how to contest a result.
1. Single skill assessment (0–100)
- Keypra generates a workplace scenario for the chosen skill area (e.g. Task Clarity, Context Setting) using Google Gemini Flash via the Lovable AI Gateway.
- You write a prompt response. An AI evaluator scores it against four rubric dimensions, each 0–25: technique application, clarity, specificity, structure.
- The four rubric scores are summed to a single 0–100 score.
- Pass mark: 60 / 100. Below 60 the result is marked “Needs Work” and the skill stays in provisionalstate on your retention board.
The full rubric and your raw response are stored against your user account only. They are never visible to your employer, manager or lecturer.
2. Retention status (7 / 30 / 90 days)
After you pass a baseline assessment the skill enters a 7-day retention loop. Pass the 7-day check → 30-day check → 90-day check, and the skill is marked verified. Failing a check demotes the skill back to provisional; nothing is deleted, the history is preserved.
3. AI Maturity Dashboard composite (1.0–4.0)
The dashboard blends two inputs per dimension:
- Objective score — from your assessments (0–100), mapped to a 1.0–4.0 maturity scale.
- Self-assessment — from the AI Fluency self-report (1–4 per dimension).
When both are available the displayed score is 70% objective + 30% self-reported. When only one is available it is used directly. Self-reported values are clearly labelled and excluded from any compliance evidence.
Confidence label reflects how many curriculum lessons in that dimension you have completed (≥ 75% → high, ≥ 1 → medium, otherwise low). It is a transparency signal, not a grade.
4. What this score is — and is not
- It is a learning signal to help you focus practice.
- It is evidence of training activity for EU AI Act Art. 4 workforce literacy obligations.
- It is not a performance review or employment appraisal.
- It is not shared with your employer at the individual level — see DPA §8b and Terms §10a.
5. Your right to contest (Art. 14 §4 d)
Every assessment result shows a “Contest this evaluation” option. Use it whenever you believe the score is wrong. Your contestation is logged against the assessment, reviewed by Keypra, and you receive a written response. The original score is never silently overwritten — both the original and the corrected outcome are preserved.
