You'll need a free Keypra account. It takes about 30 seconds to set one up.
1. Pick the mode that fits you
On your first sign-in, Keypra asks how you want to work. There's no wrong answer — you can change it later.
Builder
Guided. The sidebar shows essentials only and unlocks more as you progress through lessons. Best if you're new to working deliberately with AI.
Expert
Everything visible from day one — Composer, Lab, Workflows, Skills. Best if you already know your way around prompts.
Enterprise member
Joined via your organisation? Your admin has set this up for you. You'll see the org workspace and shared library.
2. Get Clarity — write what you actually need
A good prompt starts with a clear question. Keypra saves your prompts as Documents so you can come back, refine, and reuse.
Open "My Prompts"
In the sidebar. Click "New Document" and choose "Prompt".
Name it for what it does
"Weekly client report — energy sector" beats "Test prompt 3".
Use placeholders for what changes
Type {{client_name}}, {{topic}}, {{deadline}} — Keypra will ask you to fill them in later.
3. Add Context — what AI can't infer
Context Cards hold the background AI needs but doesn't know: your role, your project, your tone, your constraints. Write once, reuse everywhere.
Go to "Contexts"
Click "Contexts" in the sidebar.
Create a card
Pick a category. Give it a clear name like "My role at Acme" or "Tone — formal client comms".
Describe the background
Plain prose. Who you are, what the project is, what tone or rules to follow.
4. Compose — bring it together
The Composer is where prompt + context + details meet. You'll see the final assembled prompt as you build it.
Open the Composer
Click "Composer" in the sidebar.
Pick your prompt
Select the Document from step 2.
Attach your context
Click "Add Card" and choose the card from step 3.
Fill in the placeholders
The preview updates as you type.
Copy and go
Click "Copy Prompt", paste it into your AI tool, and read the result.
5. Build Confidence — review before you ship
Frontier models fail invisibly — confidently and plausibly. Before you act on AI output, take 30 seconds to challenge it.
Send the prompt back to the Practice Lab
Use the "Open in Lab" button in the Composer to get a quality score and refinement suggestions.
Run a Stress Test
The Lab can flag tensions and blind spots in your blocks before you send anything to a client.
Save what worked
Promote successful prompts back to your Library so future-you doesn't start from scratch.
That's your First Win
You just used the three pillars in one loop: Clarity (a clear question), Context (a reusable card), Confidence (review before shipping). The rest of Keypra is just deeper versions of these same three habits.
What's next?
Pick whatever sounds most useful — there's no set order.
The First Win, explained
Why we built the journey this way, and how to repeat the loop daily.
Practice Lab
Score, refine, stress-test. The home of Confidence.
Prompt Composer (deep dive)
Variables, multi-card setups, Wing filters.
Workflow Builder
Chain prompts into a repeatable, multi-step process.
Build a Library
Documents, Cards, Personas, Skills — your reusable AI toolkit.
You don't need to learn everything at once. Most people start with a single prompt and grow from there. That's exactly how Keypra is designed. Back to the journey map →
